Technostress, a modern-day phenomenon, affects many people as they navigate the digital world.
My technostress research focuses on understanding its causes and finding ways to mitigate its impact. Since 2018, I have conducted interdisciplinary qualitative research in Danish organizations, combining insights from information systems and the sociology of emotions. This has allowed me to explore how obligations contribute to technostress, contributing with a sociological research stream alongside the more established psychological and neurobiological approaches in exploring technostress within information systems.
I have studied how technostress is embedded in everyday work environments in different contexts (e.g., hospitals, cargo vessels and private organizations).
My work has sparked national discussions about employee well-being and digitalisation. I am also the lead author of the peer-reviewed book, Digital Stress på Arbejdspladsen, which offers tools for reducing technostress, and bridges research and industry.
